Need unlimited Hooks?
Copy my Hook Engine for free and never struggle with Hooks again!
Hooks can be a headache…
I’ve struggled to come up with good hooks that catch attention and engage my audience to read further for months…

I’ve asked myself these questions:
Who am I writing this hook for? → (Target Audience)
Why should they be reading it? → (Goal)
How do I make them read it? → (Hook)
My Solution: The Hook Engine 🪝
I came up with a formula, created different categories of hooks and added a reference to my target audience to make the output as tailored as possible.
All in Google Sheets, fully automated and scalable…
No more writers block, always fresh hooks → Better content and engagement!
And today I’m giving it to you for free so you don’t have to go through the same struggles!
→ But first you’ll need to do some setup. (Isn’t there a better day then Saturday? 🥴)
How to set it up
Follow these simple steps and start creating unlimited hooks in 5 minutes!
Copy my Google Sheet
Follow the below link to go to my sheet 👇️
Click on “File” → “Make a Copy”.
The file is all yours now! 🥳
Get your OpenAI API Key
Go to https://openai.com/ to create an account and get your API key.

Now you’re set with the access to the GPT API.
Save it somewhere safe where you can copy it.
Note: You may have to add a payment method to use your API key. Don’t worry it won’t brake the bank…depending on the usage it will be only a few dollars (<$5) for a couple hundred hooks!
Install the GPT for Sheets and Docs App
Find the extension here 👇️
Once you’ve installed it you can access it in the Google Sheets menu under “Extensions”. Open the menu and then click on “Set API Key”.

Copy and paste your API Key in the field and click “Next”.
You should end up on the screen on the right side.

Open the extension again and click “Enable GPT functions”.
You’re all set now and you can use ChatGPT right in your Google Sheets!
How the Spreadsheet Works
It’s pretty simple. You have 3 sheets.
One for the hook creation, one for the hook types where you can add your own hook categories and one where you can add your target audiences.
Tip: Start in Sheet 3 as you should add some information about your audience to get the best results.
Sheet 1: Hook Engine
You’ll only need these columns:
Content Title
Additional Context
Hook Style
Target Audience
…to generate a tailored hook that makes your audience go “Wooah”!
Add your content title and some context if needed. Then select the style of hook you want and select your target audience from the dropdowns.
Important: The fields with grey background should not be changed as they contain lookup formulas to pull the information from the other sheets so don’t touch them. Change the values in the “Hook Types” and “Target Audience” sheets instead.

Sheet 2: Hook Types
This is where the Hook Engine refers to the style you select. You can add your own hook types if you want or use the ones I added already.
Important: To add one you need to add it to the dropdown in the Hook Engine with the exact name of the Hook Type you add in Column A so it can refer to it.

Sheet 3: Target Audience
Add your target audience here. Fill in information about their pain points, goals, interests and what triggers them. This will ensure your hook speaks right to your audience, increasing engagement and impact.

How to create a Hook
It’s simple…just add a new content title in the Hook Engine and select Hook Style and Target Audience. The Hook from ChatGPT field will automatically adjust to your input!
(If there’s no output, check if the formula fields need to be extended to new cells.)
Switch different styles and target audiences
You can easily switch between different Hook Styles or Audiences by selecting a different style or audience from the dropdown menus!
For example a Skill Mastery Hook…

Turned into a Statistical Hook!

So that’s it! 🙏
I hope this is helpful for you and saves you some time.
